needles has now left the square peg to concentrate on singing for the swellbellys and playing guitar for French punks anticlockwise. the band are off on tour on the 7/9/2006 first stop is playing at the schrottbar festival in biel Switzerland. then they play a handful of shows in France. look out for daz playing with nasty nasty over the next couple of months and also needles is doing some uk shows with anticlockwise in December. dates will be posted as soon as i have them.

Needles is now playing bass for french punks ANTICLOCKWISE on their forthcoming chinese tour. and will probably take over bass duties fulltime as well as his commitment to the Swellbellys and the Square peg. also on the moonlighting subject , Daz is playing guitar for galashiels punk outfit NASTY NASTY on their next couple of shows.

the swellbellys would like to apologize to anyone anyone who turned up at our Newcastle show. we decided to pull the plug on the show after 3 venue changes an the fact that the venue changed the night before the show. we will hopefully reschedule the show at some point in the future. we would also like to say a big thank you to the cunt who smashed our van windows and made off with our sat nav. you are a thieving cunt and we hope you die slowly.

we finally have control of the website so expect it to change a bit over the coming weeks. on the news front we have just released the singles collection album on stranded records label, this cd is available to buy from us direct, as is all merchandise. for an up to date stock list and prices please email us at swellbellysgigs@aol.com

work has also started on the new album due to be recorded at hideous eye studios in telford in the new year. Britt and Ryan from assert will be assuming producer and engineering duties respectively.

on a more personal note we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Davie Patterson from pulse audio media in stirling. he died suddenly last month. Davie was the man who recorded the first two swellbellys albums as well as our early singles. he was a great musician producer/engineer and mentor to countless young bands in the central belt and he was also a dear friend of ours. he will be greatly missed by us. r.i.p Davie.

on a more upbeat note, needles has now set up his own tattoo studio and is available to service your every need in the custom tattoo sense of the word. based in gorebridge Midlothian, the studio is state of the art, comfortable and very hygienic. anyone interested should contact him by emailing swellbellysgigs@aol.com

The Swellbellys would like to apologise for the cancellation of our European tour. as some of you may already know , we had van trouble just north of Berlin on the road to the gig in rostock. the quote of 2700 euros to repair our clutch was to be quite honest taking the fucking piss. so a big go fuck yourselves you robbing muther fucking cunts, goes out to ADAC breakdown ltd in rostock. so after four days stranded we got flown home and are still awaiting our van and gear to join us. a big fuck off to HERTZ as well for their refusal to allow us to leave Germany with one of their vans. even when their paper work clearly says you can. so again our apologies and hope to see you all real soon, as soon as we can re book the shows.

we are very pleased to announce that the new drummer in the swellbellys is PUMPY ( ex uk subs , vice squad ). we are currently rehearsing for live dates over the summer. and a European tour in early October. we would like to take this opportunity to wish Bruce all the best for the future and to thank him for filling in on some shows. the bullets and blades album is out now. available from the band at shows or by email , as is all our merch.

Been busy rehearsing new material that is to be recorded for various releases. First off is a split single with an Italian band called dishonour squad, also we are doing a split single with assert on the stranded records label. Also in the pipe line is another single on peter bower and a live album on peter bower. The live album will be released very soon and is of our gig in Bordeaux recorded on the last European tour. Also on the way is a four way split 12inch with us , critikill , anticlockwise and kamizole on a French label, that sould be out in time for our October tour.

due to the fact Pedro is leaving the band on september 15th. We are pleased

The band is off to Europe for 21 dates including France Switzerland and Italy after the leeds gig, no details of venues are available yet but will be posted as soon as possible. The swellbellys have been confirmed for this years HITS in Morcambe.

The band was back in the studio recording 9 tacks last week, 5 tracks to be released on CD in February entitled "Never Give UP" this will be available to by from the band. The rest of the track will be released in March on Peter Bower Records on a split with freaks Union.

Well after a busy summer of touring and recording we have finally kicked some ass and got the website updated. We would like to thank everybody who supported on our recent tours of the uk, europe and Ireland twice, cheers. We have also been in the studio to record a 10" vinyl for Peter Bowers Records which is now available at gigs or direct from Peter Bower Records called "Taking Care Of Business". The website will now be updated weekly with any new gigs or news.

Everyone had a lovely festive period. So what's next for the swellbellys? Well we are currently rehearsing 16 new songs, which will be recorded in April sometime. These songs will be for the homebrew split and also a cd mini album towards the end of the year. As you will also have noticed, the site is undergoing some changes at the moment; these should be completed shortly, thanks to Dave for his continued involvement in the web side of the swellbellys. We have a few local gigs in February with assert and we have also been confirmed for h.i.t.s in Blackpool. That's it for know should have more news next week so check back for that………daz

Been a while so here goes, firstly we would like to introduce Pedro lambrini as the swellbellys new bass player, and like to thank Dave for 2.1/2 years service. We wish him well with whatever the future holds. So what's next for the swellbellys? Well we have a split single with the assailants from the USA .this should be out early next year on intimidation records. also in the pipeline is a split album with Yorkshires finest " homebrew". This will be out on peter bower records in the spring. We also have shit loads of new merchandise, which will be available from the gigs only so save up yer pocket money and come along and see us.

Well after nearly 3 years with the swellbellys I've finally called it a day to concentrate on some other shit I've got going on. Max respect to all the bands I've played with and all the people all over the country I've met. Good luck to Pedro and the boys watch out for them in a town near you.
